Founded in Birmingham in 1978, Duran Duran is still one of the biggest rock bands ever. In the 80s, the band, whose members have constantly changed over the decades, celebrated international success with hits such as ‘Rio’ and ‘Hungry Like A Wolf’. To date, Duran Duran have sold more than 100 million records and achieved gold and platinum status several times over with their 15 albums. Singer and frontman Simon Le Bon, John Taylor, Roger Taylor and Nick Rhodes have been a permanent line-up since 2001.
Duran Duran is far more than a typical band of the 1980s. Over four decades, they have proven their ability to remain musically relevant and are recognised as pioneers in the fusion of music and visual art. Their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2022 recognised their outstanding achievements and influence on music history.
